D.G. Allstrum is a Michigan-based filmmaker and founder of SweeneyWorks, an independent production banner focused on psychological horror, character-driven storytelling, and emotionally immersive cinema.
Rooted in themes of performance, identity, isolation, and the systems that reward people for staying broken, SweeneyWorks develops stories that blend atmospheric horror with human vulnerability. Influenced by classic showmanship, gothic storytelling, late-night performance culture, and psychological realism, the company’s work explores the fragile space between who we are and who the world expects us to be.
After decades of pursuing a lifelong passion for directing, Allstrum completed his debut short film, Dead Air, a self-financed psychological horror project created through years of persistence while navigating disability and financial hardship. The film launched the creative foundation for a growing slate of original horror stories including A Devil of a Deal, Behind the Wallpaper, and The Eye Inside.
SweeneyWorks believes horror works best when it reveals something human beneath the nightmare.
